本属は１属１種で本種のみを含む。世界に広く分布する。日本では本州、九州、四国から知られ、沖縄からの記録は無いようであるが分布していてもおかしくはない。成虫は様々な植物から採集されるが、関東地方の三浦半島ではPanchaetothrips kikiriやHeliothrips haemorrhoidalis クロトンアザミウマ等とテイカカズラからほぼ一年中採集されている。

This genus includes only a single species. This species is distributed in throughout the world. In Japan, it is known from Honshu, Kyushu and Shikoku and probably also from Okinawa although it has ever been not known from Okinawa. It is collected from many kinds of plants. It occurs on the leaves of Trachelospermum asiaticum in Miura-peninsula of Kanto-region together with other panchaetothripine such as Panchaetothrips kikiri and Heliothrips haemorrhoidalis in almost throughout the year.
